Tuesday Evening/Wednesday Morning

I did complete my mile yesterday afternoon so that was two decent "workouts" in. Yay!

Foodwise I did okay yesterday until after supper. I ate a handful of small shrimp lightly sauteed and a pan full of pan roasted b. sprouts for supper. Then I ate two fun sized candy bars for dessert. (*sigh*)

A couple hours later I was starving. Not sure why except that small shrimp aren't very filling. I'd have thought the b. sprouts would have filled me up. But anyway, so I was starving and have no real snack food in the house. No healthy popcorn, no nothing. What I do have is a tub of pre-portioned cookie dough in the freezer so of course I took six cookie dough balls out and baked them. I only intended to eat three of them with a cup of coffee but an hour after the first three, the last three kept calling my name. So I ate them.

They were small cookies, granted, but that's still no excuse. I shouldn't have baked them at all. I should have just had a cup of coffee to see if that would quiet the hunger pangs. Or I should have eaten a couple of crackers with some water or something. Anything to keep me from sabatoging all my hard work from earlier in the day.

I think that's part of the problem, though. My psyche thinks that because I've eaten smartly and "good" all day long that I deserve a treat or can afford something "bad." Stupid psyche.

I guess my plan of attack for next week is to make sure I have plenty of healthy snack options available. 100 calorie popcorn packs. Or something similar. I tend to get tired of popcorn after a day or so of that being my snacking option. Or maybe I need to start eating more of the good stuff at supper. Back to salads? Ugh.

I don't know what the answer is.

Anyway, this morning I ate a Jimmy Dean Breakfast bowl of egg whites, turkey sausage and potatoes. It was delicious and a nice mid-week break from Cheerios. I decided last week that that's something I need to do to keep me from going off the rails at breakfast--a mid-week break from Cheerios with something that's mostly healthy but also enjoyable. Something that isn't the bagel thin slathered in Jiff Mocha Hazelnut spread. haha

I didn't work out with a DVD this morning because I'm hoping to make it a twice weekly thing. Tuesdays and Thursdays. Maybe Saturdays since I can't seem to fit in an outdoor walk on the weekends. Rain. Cold. Busy. Etc.

Today is the big Thanksgiving lunch at the campus cafeteria so my friends and I are walking over there. The menu is LONG but I think I'm going to stick with just turkey and dressing and maybe a bit of sweet potato casserole and then a salad from the salad bar. Last year I junked up my plate with some other stuff I didn't really need/want. Going to make my $9 worth spending this year. haha

I should be able to get my walk in this afternoon and perhaps tomorrow. Friday's going to be a bit tricky. I have to work Saturday so I get off early on Friday. I'll be shopping and junk but maybe I'll be able to squeeze in some sort of activity that morning. We'll see. Friday's still so far away. ;-)
