Splat!

That was me, falling off the proverbial wagon.

Last week was CA-Rayzee. Stress out the wazoo. Running here there and everywhere to get a project done. A couple of spats with my friends. And you know what that means, kids.  I ate like didn't have good sense and only got the one walk in last week, well, two if you count the 15 minute aerobic walk with the DVD that I squeezed in one day last week.

I mean, I was active. All the running around I was doing was actually very physically intensive. It just wasn't probably the right kind of activity. Not like walking.

I ate BK on Thursday and Panda again on Friday (the two entree plate, not the small sensible bowl). Burrito Saturday morning AND two chocolate donuts. Cookies. Cheese puffs. Two helpings of the lunch Mama cooked Saturday. Candy. Cokes.

To summerize: I lost my ever-lovin' mind.

I woke up yesterday with renewed determination. Ate well yesterday, got my mile in and got plenty of sleep last night. Woke up this morning to a DVD walk and some Cheerios. Have all the fixin's for a healthy lunch with me and some salad fixin's at home for supper.

Well, let me break down yesterday because while it wasn't ridiculously bad, I still need to account for the slips.

Breakfast: Cheerios with 2% milk. I had to abandon the almond milk because I can't really afford to pay $3 for a half gallon that I never get to finish before I'm supposed to dispose of it. I figure a 1/4 cup of 2% can't hurt THAT bad. Could be wrong. Hope I'm not.

Morning break: Half a pumpkin muffin and 10oz of Coke. I split the muffin with a friend...one of the ones I had a spat with last week. Sort of a peace offering. The Coke was just because I really wanted some. Weakness. I has it.

Lunch: Low Sodium Deli Ham with 2 tspns mayo  and romaine on whole wheat bread round. 1/4 of an apple. The rest of the Coke.

Supper: A cup of mostly beans chili with 1oz of cheddar cheese and 10 whole wheat crackers. Water.

Dessert: Three fun sized candy bars. I know. I was bored and I'm still trying to get back on the wagon after abandoning it.

Coffee

See? Not terrible but could have been better. Really not bad compared to last week's disaster.

I walked my mile in 20 minutes. Better than it had been before last week. But I think it's because I relaxed. I took time to just breathe and focus on the fact that I'm not racing anyone. If I pace myself from the start I can walked at a nice steady pace without hurting my calf muscles and thus not have to slow way down to get to the end of the mile.

Anyway, here's to gripping the sides of the wagon and hanging on this week for dear life. haha

I know I have at least one day when I will relax a little. The university's Thanksgiving lunch is Wednesday and my friends and I plan on going for that. Turky. Dressing. YUM. ;-) But other than that, I'm tightening my grip. ;-)
