Forgive me for not checking in yesterday. As though anyone cares. *shrugs*
I did...okay yesterday. Yes, just okay. I could have done better. I can always do better, though. Always.
So Thursday:
Breakfast: Two eggs, fried in one tablespoon of butter, water. I was tired of Cheerios and I think my almond milk was about to go south. You're supposed to consume it within seven days of opening and, well, mine was about eleven days past the seven days. I'm a rebel, what an I say? The eggs were good, though a bit overcooked and since there was probably half a tablespoon of the butter left in the pan when I took the eggs out, I figure I probably only consumed about half a tablespoon of the fatty butter. That's what I'm telling myself, anyway.
Morning Break: A 12oz coke and three pieces of Hershey's almond toffee nuggets. I was in a meeting from 10am-11:30 am and those were the options available. I was hungry and thirsty so I consumed. Considering that there was a cup of chocolates in front of me, I figure I did well consuming only three. Oh, wait. Four. I also ate a small Hershey's Bliss. Milk, not dark, because dark chocolate is blechy.
Lunch: Lean honey ham sandwich on a whole wheat sandwich round with Romaine, a couple teaspoons of mayo and water. No apple. Tired of apples so I took a break this week.
Supper: Two leftover white chocolate sour cream pancakes with pure maple syrup, and seven cream cheese stuffed mushrooms. Weird combo, I know, but I wasn't in the mood for another salad and I'm pretty sure that the upset stomach I had Wednesday night was actually my body revolting against salads. Drank water and had a cup of coffee and a fun sized kit-kat.
OH! I forgot. I also had a grande non-fat hazelnut cappuccino in the middle of my afternoon walk. It was cooooold out and I hadn't put my sweater on so I got the cappuccino to prevent hypothermia. That's my story, anyway. haha
And yes, I did get my 1 mile walk yesterday. Yay me!
Today (Friday):
Breakfast: Three small chocolate chip sour cream pancakes with pure maple syrup and water.
Morning break: A medium Hazelnut Mocha from a fancy prancy cafe downtown and a sausage muffin. My friends and I were running work related errands so we treated ourselves to some fancy prancy cafe snacks. I'm more shocked by how much it cost than how many calories it added to my day. $7.65 for a coffee and a muffin. What is this? New York? I wanted to ask the barrista if it'd same me some dough if he skipped the fancy prancy design in the foam of my Mocha.
Lunch: We were still out on errands so we stopped at Taco Bell. I got a chicken chalupa and a large Pepsi. I know it sounds horrible but considering that I normally get the chalupa combo that included TWO chalupas and a soft taco, I figure I made a smart(ish) choice. *shrugs* Baby steps, people. Baby steps.
Besides, aren't we supposed to eat what we enjoy only in smaller portions? Well, that's what I did there.
I just got back from my afternoon mile. I finally got my pace picked back up after having slowed considerably over the past several days. I think the key is to start out slow and build up. That's what I did today and it got my pace up to 18 minutes per mile up from a lagging 22-25 minutes per mile. Awesome.
Supper tonight will be a half a Totino's Canadian bacon pizza Or a whole...I'm actually really, really hungry right now. Hopefully it'll tamp down by the time I get home and I can make due with half. And of course I'll have my fun sized Kit-Kat. Or a fun sized Reese's cup.
Speaking of Reese's cups...While we were out running errands, we stumbled across something utterly ridiculous: 1lb Snickers bars and 1/2 pound Reese's cups! Well, since Reese's come in pairs, it's actually a pound of Reese's cups per package. What in the world? I mean, I could definitely attempt to knock one of those things out. Reese's and Snickers are two of my favorite candy bars along with Kit-Kats. Man. What would a pound of Kit-Kat's be like??? I can't even...
Anyway. Back to the topic of progress. I weighed this morning and not surprisingly, I only lost a couple of ounces this week. I say not surprisingly because I realize I got a few half walks in, I drank more Coke's/Sodas and cheated more than I should have. I'm going to have to really think on what to do about my options for next week. I need to buy things that satisfy me out of cheating but also are healthy choices.
I also need to work on why I've been so blase about it all these past couple of weeks. It's almost like I'm not even trying anymore when I need to be staying on track and learning new habits. It's WAY too early in the game to give up now.
I'd buy one of those healthy options cook books but they are full of recipes with foods I couldn't get my hands on around here even if I wanted to.
I do need to think about the things that I know I enjoy, like kale and broccoli. Yes, I actually like broccoli. Maybe some Brussels sprouts without the salad. Some veggie soup? We'll see what I bring home from the grocery store tomorrow. :-D
So that's the report from me today. Have a healthy weekend, ya'll!
