I am on a vanity kick right now, though. I cut my hair a couple of weeks ago. Then I colored it this weekend. And I picked up some new (much needed!) glasses Tuesday. I guess you could say, I'm slowly giving myself a little mini-makeover to catch up with the slowly shrinking body. For real, tho, I feel super vain. I guess this is just a phase I'm going through right now? *shrug*
Anyway, since the scale is catering to Mother Nature this week, I needed a boost of motivation/reminder of how far I've come. Body photos are still hard for me to really see any changes. My face, though...My face. I still get slightly startled sometimes when I see my face. Photos/Selfies are harder for me now because the tricks I used to "slim" my face before don't work anymore because I don't need as much slimming. There are other nuances of my face that are startling, though. Even my skin tone is different. Not as rosy. There are deeper creases when I smile so I find myself not smiling for photos as much. Well, I'd sorta stopped smiling for photos before due to a weird shadow caused by a crown on one of my teeth. But now the creases distract from the shadow so I just do a smirk.
But the weight loss is most noticeable to me in my face. It's a new face. And the glasses emphasize that for me. I don't hate it and I'm slowly getting used to it so that old photos of me look strange to me now. I'm starting not to recognize my puffy baby face.
And since I've talked about it so dang much, here's some comparisons...

So, I take WAY too many selfies. Obviously. I've been vain a long time. But it comes in handy when I need a little visual boost to keep me from walking over to the union for a large order of orange chicken and a large order of waffle fries and chase all that down with a venti white chocolate mocha. #TrueStory #OldJana
I have had two cookies every night for the past two weeks. I ate two slices of king cake yesterday. And I ate a donut twist Tuesday. And I feel totally fine with all of that because every other meal this week I have eaten healthy, mostly whole food, small portions, and have moved my body. #Balance #LifestyleNotDiet
